Annie B. Jones owns The Bookshelf, an independent bookstore in downtown Thomasville, Georgia. In 2012, she began living her Kathleen Kelly dream as the manager of The Bookshelf in Tallahassee, and in 2013, she took over operations of the flagship store in Thomasville. She loves pop culture, tacos, Jesus, and literary fiction, though not necessarily in that order. (And, because she's often asked, her favorite books are To Kill a Mockingbird, Crossing to Safety, and Gilead.)
Chris Jensen is a PhD candidate in medieval studies at the Florida State University, where he also teaches literature and composition courses. He moved from South Florida to Tallahassee in 2012 to pursue graduate study and began working at The Bookshelf in 2015. He is a fan of cats, cooking, comic books, and other things that start with C. (And, because he brings them up in every conversation anyway, his favorite books are Brave New World, The Name of the Rose, and The Human Condition.)
From the Front Porch began in 2014 as the brainchild of Annie and former Bookshelf owner Katie Chastain, conceived as a way to potentially expand the business while also sharing front porch conversations with an audience. They never really expected that audience to grow beyond Thomasville, but it slowly and surely did. After contributing to several episodes as a guest, Chris came on as permanent co-host with Episode 62 in 2016. The show continues to grow and change, and we are so grateful you're all here on the front porch with us.
